Corn Mills

In one of the villages we visited we found these great little corn mills sitting right on the river.

The wheel turns the mill inside the shack.

After the corn was ground, it was sifted here.

These are the super nice people that showed us their mill. They looked so surprised when they saw that I was on the picture, too. I wondered if they had ever heard of a self-timer on a camera before.

These millstones brought to memory the Bible verse that says, "If anyone offend one of these little ones, it is better that a millstone be hanged around his neck and he be cast in the depths of the sea." (Can't remember if I quoted that exactly, but you get the idea.) Kinda brings new meaning to the passage, doesn't it? Wouldn't want one of these things hanging around my neck while I'm trying to swim!
